Hitching Rail Retreat is an adults-only luxury accommodation designed for couples seeking romance and tranquility. All guests must be 18 years or older. This ensures a peaceful, intimate atmosphere perfect for romantic getaways, honeymoons, and anniversaries on the Atherton Tablelands.

We’re unable to accommodate pets at Hitching Rail Retreat. Our property is home to horses, cattle, native birds, and other wildlife, and we need to ensure the safety and well-being of all our animals. We appreciate your understanding.

Each of our three accommodations (glamping tent and two train carriages) is thoughtfully positioned approximately 50 metres apart, providing genuine privacy and seclusion.

While our family homestead is on the property, you’ll have complete privacy during your stay – we respect your space and won’t disturb you unless you need us. It’s the perfect balance: secluded enough for romance and relaxation, yet we’re nearby if you need anything.

You’ll feel like you have your own private rainforest retreat on the Atherton Tablelands.

We offer flexible cancellations:

• Full refund if you cancel 7+ days before your arrival
• No refund for cancellations within 7 days of arrival

We recommend booking travel insurance for unexpected changes to your plans.

Absolutely! We encourage you to capture your escape to the Atherton Tablelands. Feel free to photograph throughout the property, and we’d love for you to tag @hitchingrailretreat in your social media posts.

If you’re planning a professional photoshoot (engagement photos, content creation, etc.), please contact us in advance to arrange timing and access.
